Unless you’ve been living under a rock (no judgement!) then you’ve probably heard about Google Glass. Just in case you haven’t here’s a short video from Google to show you what it’s all about:

Though Google Glass users may look slightly ridiculous (again, no judgement!) it’s actually an exciting piece of technology, that has the potential to really change the way we interact with the world around us.

So what do you need to know about Google Glass?

It’s small, but powerful!

Size wise, it’s just about the smallest piece of technology of its kind, but don’t let its size fool you, glass has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, a gyroscope (to monitor head movements) speakers, a microphone and both still and video camera capabilities.

No more typing!

It’s voice activated, which means you never have to worry again about your fingers being too pudgy to hit the right keys on your phone. You simply say “Okay Glass” and your command and you’re off.

You never need to find it!

If you’ve ever wished for time to stand still while you’re rummaging through your bag to find your phone then you’ll totally understand why this is a great feature. Need to take a photo? Say the command and the moment is captured, completely hands free. Very, very cool!

Never get lost again!

Whether you’re walking city streets, hiking in the bush, driving long distance or cycling – Glass allows you navigate seamlessly and safely. And best of all – you never miss out on the sites because you don’t have to stop and pull out your phone to find out where you are. In fact, navigation with the Google Glass is the perfect example of augmented reality.

Ask, translate, convert!

Google on the go means you never have to be caught without the right answer. Travelling overseas? Get local phrases to help you interact with the locals or do currency conversions on the fly. Need to settle an argument between friends? No problem – you’ll definitely become the all-knowing ref!
